Rob, your comments and advice has been invaluable to this project, I remain committed to a battle and would love you to join me. Our move to Spain is going to be a 2 phase project, house completion on 26th March but a further 4 weeks here renting before we go to Spain so there is still plenty of time:)
A great project, something that you can be really pleased with for many years and that brings some genuine cheer to a lot of others (as well as inspiration).
Iain, when I sold off the original collection Hawkwind were my favourite band, along with Jethro Tull, I painted most of those Hinchliffes listening to those albums, great times.
Thank you all so much for the comments, they really are appreciated. It's been a blast painting, cleaning and rebasing these lovely Hinchliffes and I could just keep going but I think it's time to move on to something fresh. I am still working on a couple of dismounted dragoon marker bases.
Well you have well and truly set the cat amongst the pigeons with your inspirational ECW armies. I have been looking for my next project and your wonderful work has convinced me that I really need to return to 25mm ECW a la Peter Gilder.Take this decision as a complement as I attempt to rebuild my long sold off Hinchliffe armies. Well done again.
Robbie, I know you will be well rewarded as they are a great range of figures and the current castings are crisp and clean. I'm preparing a post on individual figure codes, vintage and present with my observations on each. I look forward to seeing what you did with them and if I can be of any help re codes etc don't hesitate to contact me. Next big job for is getting this collection safely to Spain, I'm quite anxious about it all!
Tremendous collection!
ReplyDeleteCheers Jonathan.
DeleteBrilliant - a truly heroic effort and in just 7 months!!! As per my email - all they need now is to be blooded in battle.

DeleteLee - that really is a stupendous effort - you can justifiably feel very proud of these chaps. Lovely work.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sir, means a lot to me. Now I get why people still collect the early figure ranges, something has been lost along the way.

ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated Matt, and I like what you are doing with your Minifigs a lot too.
