A busy weeks painting!

Sunday morning so time for the latest photo update of whats new this week. I completed painting the Grey coated Regiment of Foot (29 figures), painted 4 artillery crew, the Oliver Cromwell personality figure and painted 3 more dragoons to add to the 7 already painted. I also painted one of the Sakers. Not a bad weeks production by any means. On top of this I re-based, cleaned and restored 24 horse bought ready painted from Ian Hind. By restoration I simply refer to touching up cracked paintwork, matching a few saddle blankets on the Orange themed unit of 8 horse, repairing broken trumpets and swords etc where required. The results are as can be seen below, the pike and shot unit still need highlights on the bases and the 2nd horse unit need bases painted. The Orange horse unit may well be a tad over the top in terms of colour, but I'm going old school here and I like them! Note a couple of impostors in the ranks of this unit, I think possibly Warrior? Not sure but the difference in scale I put down to them being poorly fed retainers following their masters. Aside from those chaps all are Hinchliffe and I'm sure the horse are vintage castings from before Ian Hinds recent remoulding.

  2. Not a bad week's work, I think that counts as understatement! Lovely work, the gun crew have come out particularly well I think.

    1. Hi Iain,
I think I overdid things a bit last week so have slowed down somewhat. But I'm bursting with enthusiasm for this project, more so than for for many years. I'm lucky enough to have plenty of spare time on my hands these days, and with this hobby I never get bored.
      Cheers,
      Lee.
